Hello to those of you who have discovered it's tropical here, perhaps not the same cold damp climate you come from, you can live on less than what it possibly requires in your country where there is excellent medical care here (much less expensive), and if smart you can adopt a local diet (less meat, more fish and chicken, lots of veggies and fruit) for a healthier life. Having said that ask for our relocation white paper. It contains living costs, where to live, how to live, and even a climate of your choice....yes you can even live cool. It also contains some housing suggestions (please do not build or buy the classical concrete oven) and designs (and why) if interested in buying / building or even living here part of the year and renting it the rest of the year. All our white papers are free.
To help us get started we need 5 pieces of information. 1) Your monthly income less 10% you should not tell us about and simply save to a maximum of US$2500.00 (we don't need to know if it's higher), 2) if interested in a home, condo or townhouse or even a Nipa hut tell us which, 3) your preferred climate,
Note: Close to many beaches there is a semi-constant breeze at least, on hillsides above the coast there is typically a nice breeze with nights at 75 degrees Fahrenheit or a few degrees cooler and the higher up you go the cooler it gets.
4) the distance to a super market in both miles and time (it helps us a lot and will be important to you).
5) The distance to a hospital may also be important. Let us know if concerned.
And a few suggestions:
-Don't move all your possession here. Our power is different, termites love wood and as for clothes. T-shirts
and shorts you will quickly fall in love with. Warm blankets, pajamas and almost anything that is not cotton
you will not wear. Clothing is also very inexpensive if you know where to shop.
-Expensive jewelry is not needed and not worn in public as there are snatch and grab thieves.
-Don't move the monster TV or sophisticated audio equipment. Instead bring a very large monitor and hook
up a computer to it along with some good computer speakers. You can watch anything every produced on
Film...the digital kind and celluloid type free.
-And definitely bring a couple good manual can openers, potato peelers and critical kitchen appliances (you
can get a transformer here that will run your voltage if necessary). Again ask for our white paper that covers
this subject in depth (what to bring or not bring) and why you may want to bring them even if it's not 220V.
-A decent desktop computer (ask and we will give you an exact specification...it does not have to be the latest
model.....in fact should cost you less than US$200.00.). The LARGE monitor will be more. Again ask for the
white paper covering this subject if needed. There is a reason.
-The above plus personal items....and a bikini or shorts to swim in and you are home free.
If you have other questions , particularly if moving a lot here let us know. We can handle the paperwork, help you avoid paying custom duties you should not pay, etc. and even fill out the forms so you can be your own custom agent. Note: We strongly suggest you not move a lot of stuff here by sea, until you visit or at least ask additional questions and tell us what you are thinking of doing / bringing. As for a place to stay and live while getting organized, yes we can arrange that, even give you choices depending on your budget and desired location.
