Overview: Elsewhere on our site we discussed housing, which if you reviewed that is 20% or less than the cost of housing in the USA as an example. Medical care and dental care here is much less expensive than that as a percentage, again compared to the USA. And a good question is why?

So where can you (or we) begin? First we encourage you to check out our hospitals. The below links (and our comments) will give you a very good idea of what is available and pricing as well as inexpensive insurance if you choose to live in the Philippines. You will find answers to most questions on the links and typically receive timely responses to your questions. If you don't please contact us. We will solve the problem; more often than not a communication problem. It's just that simple...plus we can arrange for post care accommodations including bring in meals or shopping for food for you, even a vacation plus meeting you at the airport, getting you settled in and explaining any and everything you might wish to know. We might even teach you one of our card games and play with you by the pool or at a beach cabana during recovery.

Here is the summary because there is little else to say (although we added a few comments).
- We don't have unions and people are paid fairly.
- We don't have labor shortages.
- We don't have conglomerates buying up hospitals (and setting prices).
- We don't have “run away” insurance companies with costs so high an average family in the USA can't afford insurance.
- We do have a public health system, although wait times are often long for more serious issues and bear in mind the average income for a family of 4 in the Philippines is less than US$450.00 per month. Please read Donate at the end of this page. It is specifically for children with significant problems..
- We do have small health clinics all over the country.
- Our pharmacies and prices for generic drugs are also LOW and are identical to those you see in your pharmacies because many (most?) are made by the same companies in India and elsewhere in the “third world or developing nations”. Even prices for new drugs where the patent has not expired are very often less expensive. Why? Because the drug companies recognize they can charge you exorbitant prices but can't charge the same here.
- We have teaching hospitals for both doctors and nurses. Many of our nurses go OFW (become offshore field workers).
- Lastly, as a minor point with respect to “social justice”, a popular topic in some parts of the world, there are no racial or religious prejudices here. In fact, when we read about racism in other countries we laugh and cannot understand why. We are a mixed race (as really everyone is) and probably have at least a significant percentage of all religions in the world practiced here (in complete harmony).

Here is the summary because there is little else to say (although we added a few comments).
- It's fast meaning you can sit in the chair all day until everything is done if necessary.
- It's inexpensive.
- Bridges can be delivered the next day.
- If X-rays are required you very probably have to go to place that takes them and then bring them back.
- There are dentists almost everywhere.
- We can give you a few questions to ask to make sure you have a competent dentist.
- Shop around for price. Mall dentists typically have high prices because of the rent.
- Some (most?) dentists don't take appointments. It's first come / first serve, particularly outside metropolitan areas.
- If you stay in a city there will probably be many close to your hotel.
- If outside the city they are plentiful and simply ask.
